Radar Station

Another one from April.
We live near to Dublin Airport so I pass by quite regulalry when I have to go to the city. Just trying to get a different take on the typical airport shot. Light was wonderful one day coming back from the city and luckily I had the camera with me. The sky wasn't as dark as it is in the picture, but i thought this looked a bit more atmospheric.

Wonderful shot, the sky projects a really mysterious vibe. And the clarity of the towers is really impressive.

I agree with Michael. There is something mysterious and symbolic in the image of the dark, brooding sky and the what looks like a' winnowing fork'. Great and powerful capture!

Thanks for all the nice comments, really appreciate it.

It does seem to have that 'is there anybody out there' vibe to it - solitary building with loads of techy bits and a dominating dark sky. I wonder if that's just some iconic type image we've grown accustomed to experiencing with science fiction films, or is it something deeper.

@Michael: I was still getting used to the camera and lenses when this was taken. I'd been using a Fuji 9500 for about a year before hand. It was a great camera but it did have limitations. Her indoors had bought it for me as a present to encourage me back into photography - something i'd yakked about for years but didn't want to invest heavily in simply because I was afraid i'd be crap and it'd be a waste of money. Anyways, the Fuji made me realise how much i missed photography and gave me some confidence, and this was probably the first pic I took with the 5D that made me fall in love with the sheer quality of it.
