The two types of photography I like most are landscape and street photography. Of the two street photography takes far more effort, purely because I get self conscious about it; I use the 5D with a battery pack, a 24-70 zoom and a lens hood, so it's not even remotely inconspicuous. This set was taken the week before Christmas in and around Dublin's main shopping streets.

i love this. so, did they notice you? ask what you were doing? they look like they're in too much of a hurry to care.

I agree about street shooting. I have the same camera set up and you definatly are not inconspicuouse. Great shot wonderful B&W.

Thanks, Laurie, STL. I have the camera on a neck strap to it hangs down about waist level, use the shutterbutton on the battery pack rather than the usual one on the top of the camera. Generally people will see the camera, but because they don't see my hand near the top I assume they don't realise I'm shooting. Sneaky, i know, but I've seen some street photographers walk right up to people and poke their cameras in peoples faces - not sure I'd like that approach, prefer to catch more natural street shots by being as unobtrusive as possible.

People often give me weird looks just because I walk around holding a camera (which for the most part is clearly not in any kind of shooting position). I love your street shots and am impressed that you manage to get so many great shots without having fine in-camera control over the angle and framing.
